After a successful debut in February, Wendy's Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich is back for a limited time.
Wild-caught Alaskan pollock fillet is breaded in panko and served with lettuce, American cheese, pickles, and creamy dill tartar sauce.
Prior to this menu item, Wendy's offered a fish sandwich using wild-caught North Pacific cod with the same toppings.
Many customers "remarked how the sandwich's texture, taste, and crispiness is better than the cod sandwich," prompting the firm to bring back the newer version.
The debut comes two days before the start of Lent, accommodating people who won't eat meat on Fridays or Ash Wednesday. In certain places, this sandwich is available year-round.
Depending on region, the Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich costs $4.29.
Wendy's isn't the first fast-food business this month to launch a fish sandwich.
Last Monday, Popeyes debuted their Flounder Fish Sandwich, filled with fried flounder and Cajun flavours. The sandwich is back in Classic and Spicy flavours.
Arby's new Spicy Fish Sandwich joins the return of two fan-favorite sandwiches, the King's Hawaiian Fish Deluxe and Crispy Fish.
