Newly Launched Chicken Sandwich Has Sold Out In a Week
This new chicken sandwich was trending online. The new item reportedly launches countrywide in 12 varieties, from mango habanero to hickory smoked BBQ.
Each burger is cooked-to-order, with a toasted bun and crisp pickles for $5.49.
Many admirers who didn't act quickly missed out. The freshly promoted chicken sandwich at Wingstop ran out in six days, leaving consumers unhappy.
Dallas-based Wingstop, which has 1,600 stores in the U.S. and is 98% franchised, sold 1 million chicken sandwiches (a 4-week supply) in the first six days before running out.
Before becoming global, the sandwich was tested in 60 Ohio, California, Nevada, and Florida eateries.
Wingstop's CEO said the statewide debut was successful despite the product selling out rapidly.
"We're happy with the passion for our hand-sauced-and-tossed chicken sandwiches, and we're working with our supplier partners to bring it back soon," he added.
